I stumbled across a nice list from WPMU that is lists in their opinion, the best 40 sites on the internet. The full list of 40 sites may seem overwhelming, but there are some great sources of content and information among them. Here are my go-to resources for WordPress… what are yours?
1. Smashing Magazine’s category “features quality articles about developing clean, smart and fast websites with WordPress. The articles are intermediate level, with an emphasis on practical, hands-on discussions related to WordPress.” I love how the detail that for you so you know exactly what to expect.
2. WP Candy has long been a favorite of mine. Geared more toward developers who want to trick out their sites with the best plugins and custom features they can find, it’s a great place to get some advanced knowledge or find a neat add-on you didn’t know existed.
3. When it comes to needed education, Lorelle on WordPress is often the most recommended resource. “Help, tips, advice and techniques for blogging and using WordPress and WordPress.com” are her specialties.
4. Along the theme of learning, WP Tuts+ is an excellent site powered by Envato where you can read articles on advanced coding as well as learn the basics of theme development or editing.
5. WP Recipes is a fun site because each post tackles just one topic, such as displaying a custom message on a registration page or learning how to display RSS feeds on your WordPress blog. If you’re stuck trying to figure out how to do something, search this site and see if they’ve already figured it out for you!
