MERIL is a facility that helps people with all sorts of disabilities in one region of Missouri. The CEO’s son is both deaf and blind, and because of that, he has been gracious enough to help us test the site with him using his screen readers and other equipment so that we can make sure all the users who access this site will be able to get the information they need.
The black example here is what users who want a “high contrast” version see. We are still doing accessibility improvements and usability testing and will not be done until we meet certain internally set goals, such as “someone who is blind has to be able to understand where to go on this site within 60 seconds or we’re not done.”
You should set similar goals for your site audience and work at them until you achieve what you need to.
