Poulette was a year-long experiment in owning a retail store, because we work with clients that need foot traffic and Kristi wanted that experience. She did the identity, website and digital marketing and she and co-owner Tami worked on the store layout and merchandise together.
Named by brand consultant Olivier Blanchard, “poulette” means “chick” in French, and in 70’s France was a popular moniker to call out to girls, as in “Hey Poulette, come over here!” Consequently the store featured some girly chicken merchandise.
The store website was built on WordPress with Etsy for ecommerce sales. A Facebook page and newspaper ads were the primary marketing vehicles used to reach this small, local community of 3500 people.
